Was just giving this some thought. It's been quite some time since he has proliferated the news. My guess is that the Bush administration is very happy about this... but, I don't believe this should be overlooked.

Anyone have a lead?

My guess is that I can find him on myspace, but physically - I have no idea.

The better question is, who cares? He is only important to the folks with a termnal case of Bush Derangment Syndrome.

At the slighest hint of progress against those that will behead you and your kin they all scream in unison "Where's Bin Laden!!!!?" "You haven't captured and or killed him, your a failure!"

As if it would make a difference. Blah....

Maybe not a differnce to you, but to the people who lost family and friends during 9/11 - they may have another story. Isn't that why we are looking for him anyway? Justice?

I see it like a game of chess. You capture the queen/king and the pawns don't make much of a difference.

Except in this case I'd imagine there'll always be a new king to stand up as the old one falls.

heh, well to play along with your chess analogy. then US will have to be a "grandmaster" - because there are quite a few boards being played out there. Every 5 person militant group has their own king. And it doesn't help that bobby fischer renounced his US citizenship. go figure :)

Bin Ladin is just a symptom of a greater issue. America treds on thin ice in the area of world relations. I'm no expert but if we are sooo rich as a nation, somebody has to be loosing, lots of people. So instead of planning and plotting ways to become richer, maybe we could focus on real social economic equality amoungst our 3rd world friends. We are the kings and as long as we exploit people, they will revolt against us. Religion I believe is just an excuse, people are fighting because we are winning and they are loosing at life. Try living in the comforts of an Afgan, wouldn't you be pissed and want to blow something up as well. The human condition is to produce evil. I believe without an understanding of love and grace, we will continue to blow each other up...we are a distorted race and only love can save us...

I'd like to add some fact to this. Bin Laden has not been verifiably seen alive for four years.

Audio and video tapes over the past four years, have, however, apparently confirmed that he is still alive and actively co-ordinating activity for the al-Qaeda network.

Just last week Zarqawi, the world's most-wanted man, said Bin Laden ordered rocket attacks on Israel. This is, of course, not verifiable. (And yes, I know, it's a Jewish newspaper. I'm a Catholic, though, and not a very good one at that.)

Most intelligence experts would agree, however, that Bin Laden remains extremely dangerous man if we do not have his body. Assassinating him would be dangerous for a western government as he would be considered a martyr. His death, however, would also mean that a talismanic inspiration for terrorism in Iraq would be removed.

But that is speculation. The facts remain: Bin Laden is most likely still alive, but is well-isolated and hidden, despite restrictions in his movements.

(He was not hard to meet 10 years ago. Read the BBC's John Simpson )

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."

That's why we should care. Bush made a promise.

Right now among the extremist, he's a hero. If he's captured or dies, he's a martyr to them.

It doesn't matter. These jerks will do harm wherever they can with or without Bin Laden just to prove a point that they can scare people into not coming out of their homes, duct taping everything in sight, and making us feel like we're the cause of all the world's problems while they strap their babies and toddlers with C4 and a rifle.

                Who's the bad guy here?

Al Queda does not need a leader. Assuming bin Laden is alive, it will not make much difference if he is captured or killed - Al Queda is not the traditional terrorist setup, with commands being issued from on high, it's more of a "cause". You or I could wake up one morning and decide we're a member of Al Queda and go and kill some people for the cause, and that's it, we're Al Queda.

I'm not saying his capture wouldn't have any impact, as I'm sure his connections allow terrorists to communicate better with each other, and his influence can supply them with arms etc., but I don't believe taking him down would bring down an entire terrorist organisation, because Al Queda ISN'T an organisation.

And there it is... the perfect moonbat, far left, appeasement monkey position.

Why are "they" losing? Because they sit back and play the victim waiting for someone else to pull them from their lot in life.

And BTW Sydney 388 ten years ago bin laden didn't have a $25 million dollars on his head... so whats your point

Well that might actually mean something if the hunt was suspended. But that hasn't happened has it, so what's your point?

My point? Your original post: "The better question is, who cares? He is only important to the folks with a termnal case of Bush Derangment Syndrome."

So I quoted the President to show why we should care about where Bin Laden might be. He needs to be caught. It matters, so people care.

Please tone down the rhetoric. Your response bfaris was extreme.
